Karolina Popławska-Domaszewicz, MD. PhD
A graduate of the Faculty of Medicine of the Medical University of Karol Marcinkowski in Poznań. She works at the Department of Neurology at the Clinical Hospital of Heliodor Święcicki in Poznań as a senior assistant, a neurologist specialist. She obtained the doctoral degree in medical sciences with the dissertation on “Immunological humoral response against antigens of the nervous system and neurological paraneoplastic syndromes in patients with endometrial neoplasms”. She completed basic training in electromyography and electroneurography procedures, in addition to a course in the field of evoked potentials. She deals with the diagnosis and treatment of nervous system diseases, including vascular diseases, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, polyneuropathy and back pain syndromes on a daily basis. Her particular interests include neurodegenerative diseases (Parkinson’s disease, and Alzheimer’s disease). She is in charge of qualifying patients with Parkinson’s disease for advanced technique treatments (deep brain stimulation, infusion therapies – Duodopa, Apomorphine), as well as, a further management of this group of patients at the Clinic. She is a member of the Polish Neurological Society, and an author of scientific papers and congress reports published in medical journals.
